Develop New Albany

Since 1990, Develop New Albany has been working hard to make a difference in the heart of Historic New Albany. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works closely with the local business owners and nonprofits, the City of New Albany and the community. Our mission to Partner, Promote and Preserve downtown, midtown and uptown keeps us striving to find new ways to build interest in the city. Develop New Albany is a Certified Main Street program through Indiana Main Street and an Affiliate member of National Main Street. We are volunteer guided and driven. Volunteers work in a concerted fashion to enhance the social, physical, and economic well-being of our historic downtown district through comprehensive efforts using areas of Design / Economic Vitality, Organization, and Promotion.

​Develop New Albany's operating capital consists of funds generated from annual memberships, individual donations and community fundraisers. Some of Develop New Albany’s Signature Events are the Farmer’s Market, Historic Home Tour, Taco Walk and JingleWalk / HolidayFest. These events generate financial support for a variety of downtown programs. Collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships which maximize return on investment and creates a culturally diverse, economically vibrant, and highly sustainable downtown district.
